This large, uniquely shaped handmade tile was carefully crafted using a slab of brown stoneware and a hand-cut tile die. The illustration was hand painted and carved using a ceramic process known as "sgrafitto". The pattern in the background was created using hand-cut paper stencils and various underglazes.
This tile would be suitable for display in your home or garden, or as a hanging art piece on your wall. There is an incised keyhole on the back of the tile to allow for easy hanging with a flat head screw. There is also a grooved backing to allow the option for permanent tile installation.
Cone 6 stoneware and underglazes.
